HYDRA

DESCRIPTION:

The "HYDRA" is a new dagger to the HDG "TACTICAL RANGE".

The grip is based on a unique modular system that allows each dagger variation in the (Tactical Range) to host a different pommel, guard and blade variation.

POMMEL

The pommel is based on the classic 2nd pattern design from WW2.

This unique feature has been enlarged to act as a stop for the hand.

An Luminous dot has been place at the centre of the nut to help locate the dagger in ZERO darkness.

HYDRA POMMEL

GRIP

The grip itself is considerably larger in all respects to that of a classic WW2 grip, This has been done for several reasons.

1, To allow for the use of gloves

2, To cater for the size of a modern man

3, To allow for extra weight to enhance Penetration, thrusting and swinging movements via fugal force.

The Grip, Guard and pommel have been Ceracoted "Flat Earth" and the Blade has been Ceracoated "Black" to blend in with modern uniforms and equipment.

There are eight rubber O-rings that are heat and chemical resistant placed equally along the length of the grip.

The rubber O-rings not only provide phenomenal grip to the user in all environments but they also have a symbolic meaning as the represent the Eight Victoria Crosses awarded to Commandos during WW2.

HYDRA GRIP

GUARD

The guard is based on the classic 2nd Pattern straight guard from WW2.

The length has been extended to cater for the larger grip and also to allow the user some basic hand protection.

HYDRA GUARD

BLADE

The blade its self is based on the classic "2nd pattern" WW2 design that has been modernised and ground to a rapid tapper.

The base of the blade wedge has a deep thumb print machined on to it to allow the user extra purchase and dexterity whilst handling the dagger.

The wedge has been greatly extend 3/4 along the blade to provide not only stability but strength to the rapid tapper blade.

SHEATH

The "Mad Jack" sheath has been designed in collaboration with British Tactical.

This simplified robust sleek design allow the user to place the dagger in any orientation and attach it any equipment currently in service.

The sheath has a water drainage vent at the base and several equipment attachment variations to the rear. It is also lined and backed in thermo plastic to protect the user.
